About Bio Sculpture
Since childhood, Elmien was fascinated by beautiful nails. This fascination became her passion. After completing her studies at the CIDESCO Beauty Academy, Elmien opened her first salon. Unable to find any premium quality nail care products, she continued her studies in the USA attending training in artificial nail systems. Elmien concluded that if she wanted a leading nail care product to meet all the requirements it would have to be developed from the ground up.
Her goal was not only set on beautiful nails, but also on nail health. By consulting with the best scientists in their respective fields and applying the latest technologies available, Bio Sculpture Gel was born from a humble beginning with passion, hard work and the faith of a true pioneer and today it’s the leading nail care solution.
Today the Bio Sculpture head office is situated in the heart of South Africa in the small town of Clocolan, playing an important role in the socio-economic environment, surrounded by the breath taking African landscape. The 3000sqm ultra-modern factory is an environmentally friendly building with regulated ventilation systems, boasts self-supportive water storage and optimises natural lighting. The factory is ISO 22716 certified for Good Manufacturing Practices and is managed under ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems.
The warm-heartedness of Bio Sculpture is not only tangible in the factory, but is extended to the global Bio Sculpture Family.
About Bio Sculpture Scandinavia
I was no youth when I first tried Bio Sculpture in my beauty salon in Uddevalla 1997. I was an esthetician and absolutely did not want to work with porcelain nails or glued-on plastic tips that would ruin my customer’s natural nails.
I heard that Bio Sculpture was something different from what was on the market, a flexible gel, which was also available in several colors. A new nail system that did not use harmful primers or activators and that could easily be removed – without damaging the natural nail.
I decided to try it and after a year I had completely fallen in love with this amazing product! I could do flexible nail reinforcements or extensions with color which lasted for several weeks, and best of all, I could remove the gel again without any damage to the natural nail.
So began my story with Bio Sculpture. In 1999 I traveled to South Africa to be tested as an importer and came back with the import for all of Scandinavia!
These years have been a fantastic journey! I have started several European countries, from Cyprus and Russia in the east to Portugal and Spain in the south, Germany and Estonia. I am Norwegian, live in Sweden and overall feel quite European.
I have had the pleasure of meeting so many incredibly hard-working, positive and pleasant people with fantastic passions for their professions.
